IBM DataStage Senior Developer | Contract 6 months + possible extension

Project description

• Objectives:

− Take Group Finance System to a new generation – users more self-serving and less dependent upon IT

− Create a financial analysis mart based on GFS data enabling all kinds of ad-hoc analysis, reporting for end-users

− Self-serving users, reduce manual time spend, provide reporting/reconciliation insight must faster

• Critical Success Factors: End Of Month process update every 15 min, access control
• Scope: Financial data (Balance, PnL, all Specifications, COA versioning, additional upload for revolving data/hierarchies)
• Project is in the final stage (FINDAT solution is in production. Numerous stability issues experienced in production; backlog for development still over 3000 hours )
• Techstack: MS SQL 2016, Mainframe (PL/1 code, OPC), IBM Datastage
• Project team: Engineers and Business Analysts in Copenhagen and Vilnius, working in Agile (Scrum) setup
• Consultants required predominately to supplement the operations team and improve existing solution

Role Responsibilities 

• Understand existing architecture and data flows & suggest improvements
• Understand weak point in existing data flows, operations & suggest improvements
• Re-factor Datastage code to improve stability & maintenance
• Supplement existing team and work on development tasks from the backlog
• Supplement existing operational team, be part of on-call (work during evening / nights might be required)
• Collaborate closely with the IT team’s architects, engineers, and business analysts
• Help other engineers

Requirements

• Previous experience in financial institutions (project) migrating systems out of Mainframe environments
• At least 5 years working experience.
• Microsoft SQL Server(SSIS)
• Expert in ETL for IBM Data Stage Experience in developing and troubleshooting high complexity, big data systems
• University degree, e.g. in Computer Science or Engineering

• An ability to self-organize
